Practice Profile
The Practice was formed in 2002. Joyce White, the current Principal, took over as Sole Principal in 2005 and Colin Lawson joined the firm as Senior Architect in January 2006. Architects are registered with the Architects’ Registration Board and are Members of the RIAS and RIBA. Senior staff has 30 years + experience of a wide range of projects and construction techniques which have been employed at sites across the Highlands and Islands.
White + McGinn Architects promote architecture that is individual – but is sympathetic to the local area and surroundings, is functional yet innovative.
White + McGinn can provide a full Architectural Service from inception through to completion on site. We can liaise with the Client, help establish the brief, maintain ongoing contact with other design Consultants and establish key gateways – as part of a structured and workable programme. We keep track of costs – with the assistance of the Quantity Surveyor on larger projects, prepare presentations as required and keep strict control of the project through to the eventual completion on site and handover to the Client.
Our portfolio includes Police Stations, Community projects, Leisure Centres, Schools, Offices, Fire Training Facilities, a Family Contact Centre, a Child Protection Unit and private Residential projects. We have in-depth experience of ‘New build’ projects and also Extensions and Refurbishment work.
The Practice was located in Inverness from November 2002 till December 2016, at which time the office relocated to 1 Rosshill Drive, Maryburgh, Dingwall. IV7 8EH.
