Client: Highland Council
Description: Fire reinstatement works Due to a significant fire at the High School in October 2008, major damage occured within the main hall, stage and under-stage basement areas.
The school is a listed building and the appropriate parties were consulted prior to commencement of the reinstatement works.
Immediate emergency action was organised by the Highland Council including the first stage strip out and specialist o-zone cleaning treatement, thus allowing the school to re-open after the October holidays. The hall and the stage areas were then sealed off and design work progressed. A contractor was appointed and work commenced on site in February 2009. Target completion was early June to allow the opening of the 'new' hall and a performance of the musical 'Annie' by pupils before the end of school term.
