Client: Mr. S. Priest
Description: Conversion
Conversion of part of the Military Transport Building of the ex Saxa Vord RAF base on Unst, Shetland- the most northern island in the UK.  The original large roller shutter doors along one elevation are to be infilled- retaining one opening as the goods entrance for the brewery.  Existing facilities are to be upgraded to provide accommodation for the admin. office, brewery shop and staff facilities with new block work partitions constructed within the existing shell, added to existing areas providing the layout for the beer making.  The process incorporates a grist case, hot liquor tanks, water tank, malts store, sparge tank, kettle and mash tun, plus fermentation tanks, casks, conditioning tank, birght beer, bottling plant and dispatch area.
A suitably enclosed fire stair to a new first floor has been designed to allow for future expansion.
